Milano
Milano has a great subway system, so the radius for airbnb places is quite big. Anywhere near the metros M1-M3 is good and the metro passes are rather cheap.
Restaurants
Osteria del Binari
Absolutely a must-visit! This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Making a reservation is essential. Enjoy a fantastic dinner at this outstanding establishment. The wine tasting is an excellent choice, offering four distinct wines selected by the Chef. The melon with prosciutto starter was delightful. For the main course, both the Milanese Schnitzel and Beef Wellington come highly recommended. Plus, the grand dessert - a diverse assortment of five unique desserts - does not disappoint. Expect to spend around 50-70 euros per person. Although it might seem like a lot, the incredible dining experience this place offers is well worth every cent.
Osteria Tsuru
The sushi is excellent and the fish is very fresh. The Japanese beer is also recommended. This is a very charming spot with friendly service and very cozy atmosphere. It's definitely worth a visit.
Piz
This is a cool place that serves good pizza. Although I personally am not a fan of the pizzas with white toppings, everyone's tastes are different. It's a great spot for a post-Duomo visit lunch. Bonus: they serve Prosecco while you're waiting in line.
Sicilian restaurant near S.Ambrogio
I know where it is approx. but have not been able to find the exact location. Will try further. Food was unbelievably good.
Cafés, Bars & Nightlife
Fonderia Milanesi
Booking a table for around 8pm is the sweet spot, aligning perfectly with Milan's sacred aperitivo time. At this place you can get authentic aperitivo amongst Milanesi. With the purchase of a cocktail priced around 13 euros, you also gain access to an impeccable all-you-can-eat buffet. This place is a must-visit. Whether you plan to fill up on the buffet or just grab a pre-dinner snack before heading out to a full-scale restaurant, this spot has you covered.
Iter Bar
While it may initially strike you as an eccentric spot with unconventional concoctions, you'll quickly find yourself enamored by their astoundingly delicious drinks. Highly recommended are the cocktail infused with refreshing grapefruit or the playful 'Tipsy Sundae' boasting rich vanilla ice cream. One word of caution though: watch out for mosquitos! Either opt for indoor seating or grab some mosquito repellent (and possibly AfterBite) from a nearby pharmacy at Navigli before venturing to any bars situated close to standing water bodies.
LùBar
This bar is a fantastic stop-off before you depart from Milano Centrale or even for a leisurely brunch. Be sure to grab a seat in the stunning pavilion indoors. You'll truly appreciate the serene atmosphere here.
Café Deus ex Machina
Situated in the trendy Isola district, this café is a solid choice for brunch or a late lunch. With their inventive, flavorsome dishes, it's sure to satisfy your foodie cravings.
Activities
Castello Sforzesco
Nothing beats the simple pleasure of strolling through the Castello and the park behind it with a creamy gelato in hand. It's an enjoyable activity and a beautiful setting, indeed.
CityLife
CityLife comprising three magnificent towers, a shopping district, and a collection of sleek apartment buildings. It's a good way to experience the contemporary side of Milan. And while there's a laid-back beergarden, GUD, it's a decent spot to unwind, but it doesn't quite hit the mark on all the little details that elevate a place from good to great.
Duomo
Milano 101. Must see for first timers. Very crowded plaza but the Duomo do be beautiful.
Pirelli HangarBicocca
Hangar Bicocca stands out as one of my top museum recommendations. Its captivating exhibits, including the intriguing light figures, leave a lasting impression. While it's a bit of a ride from downtown Milan, the metro makes access easy and convenient.
Navigli
Navigli is an atmospheric spot to spend your evening, although be warned, it's riddled with tourist traps. My advice is to walk around, soak up the vibe (and don't forget the mosquito spray), but venture into the quieter side streets for superior food and drinks. Avoid the underwhelming Aperitivo and overpriced prosciutto platters. Instead, seek out gems like Fonderie Milanesi for Aperitivo, and find equally delectable prosciutto at half the price a little further off the beaten path. Iter also deserves a mention for its quality offerings, though it is a tad pricier.
Shopping
Milan is synonymous with fashion. There's a whole array of streets tailor-made for shopping, each teeming with high-street names and luxury boutiques. Right behind the Duomo, you'll find a bustling shopping hub, home to everything from the upscale Rinascente department store, housing the likes of Gucci and Prada, to more budget-friendly favorites like Zara, Pull & Bear, and Nike.
But the shopping opportunities don't stop there. Several other streets are primed for retail therapy:
Via Torino, Corso di Porta Ticinese (I like), Corso di Vittorio Emanuele II (expensive), Via Monte Napoleone (upscale), Via della Spiga, Via Manzoni (upscale), Via Dante, Corso di Genova, Corso Vercelli, Via Marghera, CityLife, Piazza Gae Aulenti, Corso Buenos Aires, Corso XXII Marzo.
Bocconi
Bocconi is a business school in Milano with a modern and stylish campus.
Torre Branca
Nestled within the green expanses of Parco Sempione, there's a tower that serves as a hidden gem for panoramic views. For a mere 6 euros, you can hop on an elevator that will whisk you to the summit, unveiling a breathtaking vista of Milan's skyline. An unforgettable sight, it's a budget-friendly opportunity to marvel at the city from a unique perspective.
Vintage Shopping
Beyond the allure of Milan's high-end fashion streets, the city is also a treasure trove for those with a penchant for vintage finds. Meandering through the city's vintage shops and second-hand boutiques can offer a unique shopping experience, where you can discover rare and nostalgic pieces that tell a story. It's an alternate shopping adventure in the fashion capital, where tradition meets trend. There is a bunch of them in Via Gian Giacomo Mora.
Spots
Parco Sempione
Imagine a vast green haven in the heart of the city, the perfect escape from the urban hustle on hot summer days. That's precisely what this expansive park offers. Wander the leafy paths, savor the tranquil moments, and enjoy a leisurely break from the bustling city. It's a delightful oasis that lets you momentarily trade the concrete jungle for lush greenery and open space.
CityLife
Really modern quarter with many shopping opportunities and overall just an interesting place to spend some time.
Isola
Trendy quarter with great architecture and a hipster vibe to it.
Parco Monte Stella
Bit outside the city but really calm and cozy.
